Founded in 1993, the BBCC continues to be a grass-roots organization, providing an array of patient support services, education and advocacy programs.

The Long Island General Office is a proud supporter of Long Island Cares - The Harry Chapin Food Bank. They bring together all available resources for the benefit of the hungry and food insecure on Long Island and, to the best of their ability, provide for the humanitarian needs of our community. Their goals are to improve food security for families, sponsor programs that help families achieve self-sufficiency, and educate the public about the root causes and consequences of hunger on Long Island.
