COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
At the New York Life Long Island General Office, we do more than work in the community—we're part of it. Many of our agents have local roots—some even go back generations. That's important, because it gives them a vested interest in the people and businesses that make up the community. We believe there's no greater job than helping our friends and neighbors succeed.
American Cancer Society
New York Life - Long Island is proud to support the American Cancer Society and their mission to free the world from cancer. Until then, their focus is on funding and conducting research, sharing expert information, supporting patients, and spreading the word about prevention.
Stony Brook Cancer Center
The Long Island General Office is a proud supporter of Stony Brook Cancer Center. Their mission "is to reduce the suffering from cancer by providing world-class multidisciplinary care close to home, conducting innovative research, educating patients and healthcare professionals, and partnering with our community to reach the underserved populations."
The League of Yes
The Long Island General Office is proud to support The league of Yes. They provide baseball programs for people with disabilities. Their goal is to "help the league’s players develop social skills and increase self esteem, while promoting community support and sponsorship for the league."
Stonybrook University College Athletics
New York Life – Long Island is a proud sponsor of the Stonybrook University College basketball and football team. Their Basketball team is part of the NCAA Division I athletics. Their football team is part of the CAA conference.
Babylon Breast Cancer Coalition
The Long Island General Office is a supporter of the Babylon Breast Cancer Coalition (BBCC), a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to various breast and gynecological cancer concerns. Founded in 1993, the BBCC continues to be a grass-roots organization, providing an array of patient support services, education and advocacy programs.
Cardinal Hayes High School
New York Life – Long Island is a supporter of Cardinal Hayes High School. Their mission is to inspire diverse young men of the New York City metropolitan area to become lifelong learners and responsible citizens. We will accomplish this goal by encouraging students' spiritual and intellectual growth through a rigorous college preparatory program of academics, extra-curricular activities, and personal discipline.
Special Olympics - Long Island
Long Island General Office is a supporter of the Special Olympics. The international non-profit organization provides training and competitions in a variety of Olympic-style sports for people with disabilities. "Today, Special Olympics New York (SONY) is the largest program in the United States and the nearly the largest program in the world."
Long Island Ducks
New York Life – Long Island is a proud sponsor of the Long Island Ducks baseball team. They are a professional baseball team based in Central Islip, New York.
Long island cares
The Long Island General Office is a proud supporter of Long Island Cares - The Harry Chapin Food Bank. They bring together all available resources for the benefit of the hungry and food insecure on Long Island and, to the best of their ability, provide for the humanitarian needs of our community. Their goals are to improve food security for families, sponsor programs that help families achieve self-sufficiency, and educate the public about the root causes and consequences of hunger on Long Island.
St. Charles Hospital
New York Life – Long Island is a supporter of St. Charles Hospital, a 243-bed, acute care community hospital located in Port Jefferson, NY that has served the residents of the Three Village area for more than 110 years. St. Charles is renowned for its outstanding customer service and scored as one of the top hospitals on Long Island in the delivery of high-quality care.
